When this family moved into their new home the yard contained four trees, three of which were cedars and would grow to 100 ft tall, a small patio, a soggy lawn, and a slope with lots of horsetail growing.
In order to protect their children, pets and themselves, they did not want to use chemicals to eliminate the horsetail. So the cedar trees and horsetail were removed mechanically rather than chemically and the beds were heavily planted with beautiful native and regionally adapted plants. This garden was designed specifically for low maintenance and to create an unfavorable environment for the horsetail. The patio was enlarged for entertaining, and a hot tub was installed for relaxation. An extensive drainage system was installed in addition to the pre-existing system.
Now the family is free to relax, entertain and enjoy their new surroundings rather than spending all of their time maintaining the garden.

"Lucinda completely transformed our yard from horsetail heaven to a beautiful native paradise. We just love the colors, textures and different varieties of plants. She listened to all of our needs and designed a yard that is fantastic for entertaining, low maintenance, and beautiful to look at. We love using our new outdoor space!!! "
